COSTA FIRENZE HAS JUST STARTED THE SEA TRIALS

COSTA FIRENZE HAS DEPARTED FROM MARGHERA SHIPYARD FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME

Last Carnival Corporation cruise ship, builded under request of the subsidiary Costa Crociere, has left Marghera Fincantieri shipyard in order to complete the sea trials.

Departed on Friday 2nd of October, she will be tested for multiple navigation and operational tests till the 15th of the month, among several nautical miles of open sea navigation in the Adriatic sea, around Malta.

This vessel is a 135500 tons. cruise Vista-class ship specifically designed for the emerging asian market but, due to the recent epidemiological scenario, will be instead used by Carnival brand Costa Crociere for multiple Mediterranean itineraries in her maiden season. As for the other Costa Firenze 4 sister ships (Carnival Horizon, Vista and Panorama, as well as Costa Venezia) this vessel is supplied with our MES Anti-fouling systems in the main crossover circuits, AFT and Forward, and other secondary sea chest intakes such as those used to supply seawater the for the Reverse Osmosis systems and Scrubber system.

Amongst these seawater supplied systems, Scrubbers are responsible for the overall reduction of exhaust gases by washing them to remove sulfur dioxide and in the recent years, as well as LNG-based propulsion systems, are one of the more sustainable and eco-compatible solution of choice by the cruise industry, to drastically reduce the ecological impact of cruising operations.

For that reason, we’re twice proud to be part of the added value given to the overall eco-compatibility of this vessel, by our green and sustainable anti-fouling systems and we wish Costa Firenze to enjoy her journey among the seven seas, in the following seasons!
